My Olympic Diary: Does Canada Have Olympic Fever?
Here is an idea I came up with. I want people to send in pictures of any kind of display of Olympic or Canadian spirit in their community. Whether it is a display, a sign or decorations, let’s see how Olympic spirit is being shown all across Canada. Now, it’s not enough to put on a pair of red mittens, as cute as they are, and send in a photo. It should be something a bit out of the ordinary, like a huge display in a grocery store! Or somewhere else you wouldn’t expect to see such a display of Canadian pride.
You can email your photos to my notashopaholic at gmail.com address. I will compile them for a future blog post. I’ll give you until end of January to submit photos because I know it may take some time to find these great displays of Canadian Olympic pride. Ideally, I would like to see at least one from each of our provinces and territories. Maybe we could somehow arrange for people to vote for their favourite photo with the winner able to claim bragging rights.
Send this to everyone you know, tweet it on Twitter and blog about it. I can’t wait to see which city has the best showing of Olympic Fever!
Go Canada Go!
You can find my email address in my profile on my blog: Journey to Vancouver 2010 – Diary of a Fan. When sending a photo, be sure to include your name, city where the photo was taken and a brief summary of the image you are submitting. I’ll need that to include in the blog post. Thanks in advance for your efforts. Have fun!

I’m not sure if Vancouver has the Olympics’ fever but one thing I’m sure of is that there’s a lot to do in Vancouver, Olympics or not! Sorry I don’t have any pictures to send because I never had the chance to travel in British Columbia. Let’s start by sports, eater the Vancouver home sport teams or affiliate teams, you’ll find the Vancouver Whitecaps Soccer Club (USL), Vancouver Canucks Hockey Club (NHL), Vancouver Giants Hockey Club (WHL), Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club (NWL) and the BC Lions Football Club (CFL). Make sure you’re not on a diet if travelling to Vancouver because there are a lot of pubs, bars, restaurants, sushi shops, beds and breakfast, coffee shops, pizza places, meat places, pasta places…But are there any poutine places? Maybe a Google search would answer this question! Hotels, motels are everywhere, enough beds to accommodate all of the tourist sleeping over for the 2010 Olympic games? There’s a lot of fans of Olympics games, I finally remembered my facebook login yesterday, and believe it or not I had ten become a fan of Olympics winter games invitations, I choose to become a fan of go to Vancouver 2010!! YouTube is full of related videos and clips, they talk about it on MySpace, msn, yahoo…its everywhere, even on e-bay witch I just ordered myself an Olympics game sweater, t-shirt and cap! Besides all of that, you have to take time and visit these top Vancouver attractions: the Vancouver Art Gallery, Canada Place, Stanley Park, Capilano Suspension Bridge, Grouse Mountain, Historic Gastown, The Vancouver Aquarium, Granville Island, Robson Street, Dr. Sun Yat Set Gardens…That’s probably all of the best of Vancouver! I can’t wait to visit Vancouver; I’ll probably rent a car of have a tour of the city and surroundings in a limousine and pray for good weather in Vancouver!!See ya!!
